Curry’s going down well!

Posted on Thursday 26 June 2008

Our guests have been taking advantage of Aneela’s cooking skills!

So far her mouthwatering asian delicacies have been well received, and for some guests we’re told were a high point of their visit…

For anyone interested in what’s in store, take a look at Aneela’s sample menus.

Warm and fuzzy!

Posted on Monday 26 May 2008

Without wanting to pat ourselves on the back too much - we’re both relieved and excited to have had a really busy time welcoming guests to innerhaven, and it seems all the hard work renovating the house has paid off!

Without exception, our guests have been really pleased with the quality and uniqueness of the accommodation - some already booking up for another stay later this year.

All we can say is a huge thanks to those that have given our place a try.

A few new developments

Posted on Friday 2 May 2008

Our photos are going up this week on www.innnerhaven.co.uk so let us know what you think of the place now at last it’s finished and ready for rent.

Have a look at the latest news and offers at innerhaven, where we’ve just added a special - “25% off” opening offer.

Also, for us it’s important that this business is about a more than just us - so for each and every guest feedback form we receive, we’ve decided to donate to the MS Society.

Our new website - www.innerhaven.co.uk- is under development, and as soon as we get a chance to clean up the house, finish the final touch ups and…buy the bloomin furniture - we can get some really nice photos loaded onto the site at last!

Long time no (blog) speak!

Posted on Saturday 29 March 2008

Well, there’s been a lot of 12-15 hour days of late, making a big push to get the house ready for opening - realistically it’ll be end of April/beginning of May before we’re ready to welcome guests - but at last the fruits of our labour are beginning to show.  The house is looking magic!

There’s still a ton of decorating, and a few bits of joinery left…then the furnishing fun begins - but it’s taking shape at last.

anyone for a shower…or a bath…or a bath and shower!

Posted on Thursday 13 March 2008

It took a while but the bathroom suites are in at last!

Now that I’ve climbed to 7th Dan Ikea, erecting the shower enclosure was only just infuriating. I only walked away from it swearing and cursing a couple of times: “who thinks up these flippin designs…fiddly…bl&&dy…pieces that make up one of these shower cabinets?”

And breath!

who’s a lucky boy then…me!

Aneela’s going to be testing two new curry recipes for innerhaven…and guess who’s the guinea pig!

Her curries are well known - she is an absolutely fantastic cook - and if folk’re round for dinner, and Aneela’s decided to cook a casserole or an Italian dish, you can almost here the sighs of disappointment that a curry’s not being served up.

Don’t get me wrong, she makes a mean lamb casserole, and a rather tasty canneloni, but nothing beats her lamb saag, or  chicken vindaloo.

I had better up the pace on the redecorating front, or I’ll be adding a few more pounds to the waistline!

outdoor show 2 - an update

Posted on Sunday 9 March 2008

Well, Aneela’s been too busy helping me with the vast re-decorating job at innerhaven so it seems that we’ll not be able to cook up some of her amazing tablet and flapjacks to give away at the outooor show afterall…

But instead we’ve organised something just as sweet (maybe not quite as tasty though) - and if you’re lucky enough to grab one at the outdoor show, you might just have won a complimentary meal on your first stay here once we’re open!

…all will be revealed!

a timely reminder

Posted on Thursday 6 March 2008

It’s all too easy to get bogged down in the renovation work, and end up losing site of why we love it so much down here.

We took a well earned break from the DIY work at innerhaven and set out on a wee walk to clear the plaster dust and paint fumes from our lungs!

We’re so glad we did.

It seems a very long time ago since I did all the ripping out work, and it’s a real boost to at last see the bathroom suites going in.
